Make Your Own (Healthy) Creamsicle!

San Diego has been hot this week.  Extraordinarily hot for here, and even hot for other places.  So we've been trying to find some good ways to cool off.  I think icy treats definitely fit that bill.

Creamsicles

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt
  • 1 -2 tablespoons sugar (optional)

Directions:

Mix orange juice and yogurt together.  Add sugar to taste (I didn't need any - I might have added more yogurt if I had had any)

Pour into popsicle molds.

Freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight.

Remove from the molds and enjoy!  (A tip for removing from the mold - take it out of the freezer and wait about 5 - 10 minutes... your popsicle will slide right out of the mold!)

These were really good!  Not quite the creamsicles from my childhood, but healthier and pretty close.  A great snack for a hot evening!  If you like this, you might also try my Strawberry Popsicles, or check out Country Momma Cooks' "12 Great Ice Cream Recipes" for some really fantastic ideas!
