The closest book to me right now is "Nancy Reagan - A First Lady's Style" which I picked up when visiting the Reagan library this summer.
Although the dress's silhouette was simple, its hand-embroidered beading in a fern-like pattern was a work of art, having taken more than four weeks to craft. "I loved it, and wore it proudy," she [Nancy Reagan] said.

We went through an exhibit of the first lady's fashion during the her years in the White House. Really interesting exhibit... I sure wish I had my own designers... and a place to wear all of those lovely clothes.

This is wonderful! I *so* remember this dress, it typifies Nancy Reagan, unusual for me as it isn't that 'Reagan Red' everyone liked on her so much!
