We had a few more tomatoes this week. Not as many as I would like, but a few. Big ones too!
I'm pretty sure these don't count, but I'm putting them in anyway as it has been such a hard-fought battle to grow them. We can't actually eat them because we had to get rid of the most recent insect infestation in a pretty aggressive (non-organic and inedible for the first three weeks) manner.
They look pretty though. And we've got more coming soon that we will be able to eat!
I've got strawberries ready to pick, and lettuce. A few more tomatoes... but I think they may be winding up. Good thing I am getting the fall plants in the ground now!

I must be missing something... what is wrong with those peppers that you didn't use them? They look okay in the photo?
ReplyDeleteEnvy your tomatoes ... we are still waiting for our first flush of ripe tomatoes. We have been getting ones and twosies for months now but the main crop was way late this year and it is getting worrisome whether we will get much of any to maturity before the cold rains of fall arrive. Wish me luck!
Ah yes, it was late when I wrote it. I've revised a bit to add that we had to use non-organic methods to get rid of the most recent infestation of bugs. Ugh.
DeleteGood luck on our tomatoes! We've had a very disappointing year for them - a few nice ones, but not the big crop we had hoped for. I'll be watching to see if yours beat the fall weather!
Those tomatoes look great! I am sorry you can't eat those beautiful peppers.

ReplyDeleteThose tomatoes look like great sandwich material (and I say this because that's what I'm thinking of making for dinner tonight). Burgers with homegrown tomatoes and a pile of lettuce!
