As you can see, I'm in the process of doing some redecorating around here - please pardon the dust!
We've spent the last three weekends getting our garden ready. We've weeded. We've trimmed back the hedges so our new plants will be able to get some sun. We've turned the soil and added our compost. We've planted our seedling peppers and strawberries. We've planted (more) peas and carrots.
This weekend we picked some more potatoes!
And a few carrots, peas, peppers and even a couple of cherry tomatoes. Those are the last of last year's tomato plants though. I pulled them all up in preparation for this week's shipment of Burpee's SuperSauce plants! If these don't produce a ton (or there about) of tomatoes, we will switch to peppers and buy our tomatoes at the market.
And we planted the first of our corn seedlings. I can't wait for the first bite! Thinking it might be a while though.... ;-)

I should plant potatoes some year...
ReplyDeleteSusan-
ReplyDeleteLook at you go! It is always amazing to me how far ahead you are down in San Diego. Already harvesting potatoes when I haven't even planted mine yet! You garden is really looking good. You should have corn to enjoy by the 4th of July :)
